Temecula Valley Rose Society Board Meeting Minutes

Assistance League of Temecula, 28720 Via Montezuma, Temecula CA


Present: Bonnie Bell, Phyllis Bettelheim, Frank Brines, Jeanne Brubaker, Betty Dixon, Barb Purdy,

 Ron Rumbold, Rebecca Weersing, Ann Schryer, Denise Vaccaro, Kathy Turgeon


Absent: Linda Black, Ann Coakes,


Meeting called to order at 10:10 AM by Co-President Phyllis Bettelheim.

Minutes of February, 2015 meeting approved as corrected.

Frank reports the layout of the TVRS show, Saturday, April 22nd has been established. Committee is working on all areas of the show.


Membership Chair, Ann is the new administrator of the TVRS Facebook page.


April 12, 11:00 pm is the date for the new member Orientation at Rose Haven.  Some committee Chairs have signed up to give short presentations.


Youth Gardening Chair, Barb reports that February bird program was successful.   Bugs will be the program for March Youth Gardening program. The committee is working on an Earth Day Celebration,


Rebecca reports that the Member Garden Tour will begin at Rose Haven and will proceed to Virginia Boos and then go to Myrtle Creek Gardens & Nursery in Fallbrook.




Tree of Life – Rebecca reports a renovation program is in the planning stages


Galway Downs project-- Frank has made a new contact and will continue to investigate.


Phyllis reports that the Taco Party is Sunday, May 3rd from 4:00-7:00pm.


Rose Haven projects – Phyllis reports that “No Parking Signs” are now being made.


The nominating committee dates should be: August, September, October & November.




Jeannie and Frank will take over the phone committee until a Chair can be found.


We will leave the opportunity table as is for a few months to see if sufficient donations come in.


Membership Chair, Ann will continue to look into new avenues for getting and retain new members. She also reports that door greeters are necessary and good programs will keep new people.


Lori Moss will make a Rose themed quilt for the “Summer Solstice” in 2016.


Kathy will do the TVRS monthly meeting notices until we find a Publicity Chair.


Betty will speak at upcoming meetings about the “Little Rose Show.” 


The awards committee will give recognition to Lyse McGonigle for her work at Rose Haven.
